This year’s girls soccer team is coached by Samara Weinstein. She has been coaching soccer for twenty-four years. Some qualities this year’s team has that she utilized is their eagerness to play and ability to bond as a team. The role models for the younger players are the seniors. They start their practices the first Monday after Thanksgiving.
Junior Kylie Ortega has been playing soccer for 13 years. A tradition her team does together is praying on the field. A piece of advice her coach gives her is to leave it all on the field. What she loves about soccer is that everyone has to be trying and doing their best for it to work.
Senior Bella Moczygemba has been playing soccer for 12 years now. A tradition her team does together before a game is team dinners. “On Thursdays, we go to somebody’s house and we play team games and we have a good time,” said Bella.
Some advice her coach gives her is to play for each other. What she loves about soccer is that her team becomes her second family.
Freshman Emry Greebon has been playing soccer for 12 years now. Some traditions her team does is listen to music together, team dinners, and made up handshakes.
“Everyone has been so welcoming,” said Emry.
