The 2023-2024 softball season has come to an end and our Cougarettes hit the ball out of the park. The junior varsity team was undefeated with only two ties and the varsity team was just short of playing in the playoffs.
Coach Randle said, “We had a great group of kids. It was a fun year and an enjoyable season.” He mentioned that one of the biggest challenges this season was finding their groove as a new team.
Junior Varsity coach Nowlin said, “The biggest difference is that we had 8 seniors, so the fact that they’ve stuck around for all four years says a lot about our program.” She mentioned that seeing the girls come together and work as a team was a big highlight for this season.
Randle said that the biggest highlight of the season was, “the character, effort, and attitude from our seniors.”
Coach Nowlin said that the biggest accomplishment for her as a coach was keeping the girls level-headed. She taught them to stay even-keeled and not get too excited about the highs and to learn to push through the lows.
Overall, the season went well and we look forward to seeing the team grow in the years to come. Go Cougarette Softball!
