The Canyon Cougars strike again but not in the way you might expect. That’s right! Canyon High School has its very own bowling team. Most people attending Canyon High School have yet to learn that the school has a bowling team. The goal of this article is to shed light on the sport.

The Canyon High School bowling team hosts its matches at Fiesta Lanes in New Braunfels every Friday night along with their practices every Tuesday. So far this season the team has a 2-2 record as of January 5, 2023. This Friday, the group sets to bowl against Smithson Valley and hopefully, the team comes out with a win, especially after coming off of a long winter break. On January 29th and February 4th, the team will go to San Antonio and compete in some major tournaments that would be very important for motivation throughout the rest of the season

Chris Hughes, the head bowling coach, said that being a bowling coach is the best decision he’s ever made. He said that it’s a privilege to watch these bowlers grow and develop into very good players. He states, “I am hopeful for the season to come, and considering we’re sort of in a developing phase, I am proud of what this team has done so far.”
