Here at Canyon High School, our phenomenal lacrosse team won many games and shown success, teamwork and improvement. Watching our lacrosse players on the field shows how much they truly value and care about this sport as they push through no matter what challenges they face. The 2025-2026 season has been good as the boys lacrosse team won against their rivalries New Braunfels High School 11-9 and against Rouse High School, winning 20-1 against Rouse High School.
This season was good, but behind winning there are always difficulties and challenges that follow.
Sophomore Ryan Martinez stated, “The challenge that I face is making the right choice in the game.”
The JV girls lacrosse team did a phenomenal job as they were crowned champions of the Stix and Stones Tournament this year. This advancement showed the true standard of the team, and it gave all of the players determination to be the best no matter what.

Last year, the varsity boys team was a runner-up in the state championship, which shows how much the team was working before this coming up year.
The Canyon High School boys and girls lacrosse teams both advanced to the state tournament for the first time in program history. This is such a wonderful accomplishment to both of the teams and shows great power and effort in lacrosse.
The lacrosse teams put full dedication and hard work into this sport and this is shown through their summer camps known as “boot camps” and normal practices during the season. At these camps and practices, the team focused on their strengths and weaknesses. Their main goal that they wanted to see was improvement, which shows true dedication and growing from mistakes.
Overall, the lacrosse teams have shown amazing improvement, dedication and teamwork. They showed that no matter what gets in the way, whether it’s from challenges, losses or mistakes, they will never let anything mess them up.
The Cougar Tracks is extremely proud of our lacrosse teams, and we congratulate them on their biggest accomplishment in making state!
