Recently I had an interview with Mr. Newkirk and asked him questions about the recent competition he and his students participated in.

When asked if they achieved what they wanted to, he responded, “We didn’t achieve what we wanted, but we always try to be better.” Newkirk added, “We are improving; when you put in the work, you can only get better, and I think that we are doing that”.

When I asked what he will do better as a coach and teacher to help improve their skills, he responded, “I will spill my knowledge to them and make sure they do all techniques correctly and teach them to be hard workers, but most importantly for them to give it their all.”
